Wow. It's been an entire month since I posted. It didn't seem like that much time passed. July was a busy and a tough month. The 13th would have been my dad's birthday and I think my family in general seemed to have a harder time this month. I didn't really have the energy to post, and I didn't have a specific topic that I felt strongly about writing on.
On Wednesday, July 17th, we had a fundraiser at Isaac's Restaurant for the golf tournament. They gave us 25% of their sales from one of their locations if a certain form was given at the time of payment. We earned $138 which is more than we got last year. Also, there was an article in the local Warwick Merchandiser on the 17th talking about the golf tournament! The next week, the same article appeared on the front of the Manheim Township Merchandiser, so we got some good coverage.
The weekend of my dad's birthday, I wanted to make sure that I was playing golf. First of all to stay busy so that I wasn't sitting at home thinking, and second, I know if my dad was still around, I would probably have taken him golfing for his birthday. Usually for fathers day and his birthday, I would make small coupons that said "Good for 1 round of Golf" that he could cash in whenever he wanted to. He actually used one of my coupons when we played our last round of golf together. The week of his birthday, I played 2 courses that I know he would have loved to play.
This course is absolutely beautiful. I know I have mentioned it in previous posts, but it was the location of the 2015 LPGA US Open. The girl who won the tournament that year, In Gee Chun, liked the course so much that she comes back on a regular basis and hosts clinics. She was there the day that I played, but I only saw her from a distance. This course holds a special significance for me because I will always remember spending the day with my dad walking around watching the tournament. He had played the course only once and I remember him talking about how much he liked it and would love to play there again. He never did get to play a 2nd round there, so it felt like a really big honor that I was able to play it once last year and once this year. It is also easily the most difficult course I have ever played. I won't tell you my score, but I did improve 2 strokes from last year 👌😊 The LPGA will be back here in 2024

This is a course that I have walked 4 times but never played. The girls that I coach had their conference championships here for the past 2 years so I became familiar with the course and how it is laid out. I also remember my dad saying that it was a nice course that he enjoyed playing. It is not quite as exclusive or as difficult as LCC, but it was beautiful as well.

I should say that I would not have been able to play at either of these courses if it was not for Ken so I am very grateful for his kindness and sweet hookups to golf courses.
