2017 was hands down the worst year of my life. I don't ever want a year to be worse than that one. 2018, however, was nothing to write home about either. I will do my best to be optimistic about this year, but sometimes I am most disappointed and hurt when I set my expectations too high or put too much pressure on myself.

In an effort to not be completely sarcastic, cynical and snarky about 2018, I will try to focus on some of the high moments of the year. Somehow they all involve golf! (anyone surprised?)

1. May 26 - Playing golf at Lancaster Country Club.

This was an especially huge honor because it is not easy to be able to play at LCC AND it is where the Ladies' US Open was played a few years back (and will be played again in 2024). Ken Ord, the head F&M coach, is good friends with the golf pro at LCC so he was able to get me in to play. The best part of my round was on the 6th hole- a par 3. This was the same hole that I saw the hole-in-one with dad when the LPGA was here. It was also the only hole that I beat Ken; I got par and he got a bogey. I will never let him forget that 😂 (You 3-putted that??)

2. June 6-10 - Vacation to Jackson Hole, Wyoming

I will have to do at least 1 entire post some other time dedicated to my vacation because it was absolutely amazing, but in a nutshell, here is what I did. Flew to Salt Lake City, drove to Jackson Hole, played golf at the Snake River Sporting Club (The #1 golf course in Wyoming), went through the Grand Tetons National Park and drove up to Yellowstone and saw Old Faithful. There aren't proper words for how gorgeous this vacation was. The photo of me golfing on the main page is in Wyoming, and the picture on my "Contact" page is one I took of the Grand Tetons reflecting on Jackson Lake. I loved this vacation and I highly recommend it.

3. September 22 - The Golf Tournament

Any time I played in a scramble with dad, he always told me how much work goes into getting one of these events together. Planning started around this time last year and many hours were spent coordinating everything, but with the help of many friends and family members, we had a successful event. Luckily, one of my sister's good friends, Jenny Foster, is a professional photographer and spent the whole day with us capturing the event. To see all the people who came out to golf and/or have dinner meant so much to me, and I hope my dad would have been proud. So many people loved him and miss him dearly. Mark your calendars for the 2019 tournament! Saturday September 21st!

Some of our 90+ golfers lined up and ready to play

How do you like to celebrate the new year? Do you make resolutions?

I will post tomorrow to show you how I am celebrating. Happy 2019!
